effera® is produced using Helaina's proprietary precision fermentation platform. We use food-safe microorganisms programmed to produce a protein that is functionally equivalent to human lactoferrin. After fermentation, the protein is isolated and purified. This method allows us to produce a vegan, allergen-free, and highly consistent lactoferrin at scale without relying on animal products.
